Why Health
Equity

Black Pharma was founded to increase the representation of Black professionals across the pharmaceutical and life sciences sector. As our work evolved, so too did our understanding of how representation influences research inclusion, access to care and health outcomes.

Health equity sits at the intersection of workforce, research and community.

When diverse voices are represented in decision making spaces, research design and patient engagement, outcomes are strengthened for under represented communities.

Our Health Equity work builds on our foundation in professional representation while expanding our focus to include inclusive research, disease awareness and equitable health engagement.

How We Engage

We take a community informed and systems aware approach to health equity, creating structured opportunities for dialogue between professionals, patients, advocates and stakeholders across the life sciences ecosystem.

Our focus includes:

  • Raising awareness of health disparities and research inclusion

  • Encouraging more representative participation in clinical research

  • Elevating lived experience and community insight

  • Strengthening inclusive engagement across healthcare and industry

The Health Equity Network

To strengthen community voice within this work, we established the Black Pharma Health Equity Network — a growing community of patients, advocates and healthcare professionals contributing insight to support more inclusive healthcare, research and outcomes.
