*Job description* *Site Name:* UK - London - Brentford, Philadelphia Walnut Street, Upper Merion, Upper Providence, USA - North Carolina - Durham, Warsaw *Posted Date:* Jan 23 2024 *Senior Manager, Global Logistics Fulfilment (End to End Transportation)* *The role will preferably be based in the UK/Poland/US* The Logistics Procurement team at GSK operates on a global scale, leveraging a total cost of ownership methodology to ensure suppliers meet or exceed goals in quality, compliance, delivery, and cost. As a Senior Manager in Global End-to-End Transportation, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising the entire transportation network for our organization on a global scale. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the seamless movement of goods. This position requires a professional with a deep understanding of global supply chain management, global transportation market and global trade compliance. *In this role you will:* · Develop and implement a comprehensive global end to end transportation category strategy, aligning with GSK’s strategic ambition · Perform a thorough evaluation of the global transportation network, to proactively identify improvement opportunities · Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and service enhancement within the transportation network · Evaluate and optimise end-to-end transportation routes, modes, and carriers to ensure cost-effectiveness and best service level for our patients · Implement innovative solutions to improve transportation efficiency, reduce lead times and enhance overall supply chain agility · Collaborate with supply chain, legal and compliance teams to develop and implement SLA’s, KPI’s that mitigate risks associated with global transportation · Manage risk effectively through well-constructed commercial and contractual agreements with third parties, delivering a robust supply continuity plan to assess, anticipate and prevent any disruption to supply chain on a global scale to ensure continuity of supply to our patients · Develop a diverse supply base in collaboration with the Supplier Diversity team to identify new suppliers *Key responsibilities:* · Development and execution global category strategies for end-to-end transportation · Significantly contribute to the Procurement and overall GSK goals · Identify opportunities for process optimisation within global transportation, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives · Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring business alignment on critical objectives · Keep abreast of market trends and category drivers; leverage same to effect strategies and develop annual cost reduction commitments · Build strong Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) with global and strategic partners with focus on continuous improvement, innovations and sustainability · Lead budgeting process, develop cost models and provide assumptions to Finance and Supply Chain · Lead tender process, ensure compliance with GSK Procurement policies and procedures, negotiate contracts with suppliers · Work closely with supply chain team to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation of global category strategy, while promoting the sharing of best practices and directing benchmarks · Evaluate vendor performance regularly and implement improvement plans as necessary to meet quality and service standards · Collaborate with Tech team and suppliers to leverage technology for real-time tracking, visibility, and data analytics in the transportation network · Utilise data-driven insights to identify areas for continuous improvement and drive operational excellence *Required Qualifications and Skills:* · Proven experience in global logistics management role with a focus on global transportation · Strong transportation category management and strategic souring knowledge and experience at global level · Previous experience in developing and executing multi-year global transportation category strategies within global Logistics a requirement given GSK’s expansive footprint · Deep understanding of market drivers effecting category and of the latest tools for executing sourcing strategies (Jaggaer, Ariba, etc.) required for annual benchmarking, sourcing, and negotiation process · Strong skills necessary for complex negotiations with both external suppliers and internal stakeholders · Experience in managing the delivery of global scale projects and change management *Other Capabilities / Characteristics:* · Strategic thinker with a global mindset, proficiency in global benchmarking and external networking to foster global collaboration · High energy, enthusiastic and results driven · Strong business acumen · Distinctive leadership and management skills · Resilient and persistent with the ability to make the right choices at global level · Exceptional problem-solving skills · Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and a collaborative mindset #LI-GSK *Why Us?* GSK is a global biopharma company with a special purpose – to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together – so we can positively impact the health of billions of people and deliver stronger, more sustainable shareholder returns – as an organization where people can thrive.
