The Pipeline Project Management (PPM) organization mission is to anticipate and orchestrate the unique combination of projects plans, people and budget that accelerate the delivery of the new drugs and vaccines to the patients who need them. Our goal is to accelerate the delivery by streamlining the process that brings new drugs and vaccines to market. The PPM Digital Data Analytics and Performance (DDAP) team’s mission is to embed effective integrated R&D project management through data management standards, systems, and analytics; Increasing organizational digital capabilities; Enabling efficient project, resource, and pipeline management with good performance measures. In this role as a Sr. Director, Head Data Management, and Insights you will ensure data is useful to enable data-driven decision making. You will drive the data and analytics strategy for the R&D PPM organization. As a member of DDAP team, you will be responsible to strengthen the partnership with all the key stakeholders and champion a data driven mindset within the organization. This role would also include mentoring for existing team members, as well as domain expert data managers within a distributed model. *Key Responsibilities:* In this highly rewarding and visible role you will: - Lead the build out of industry leading technology solutions in support of the Pipeline Project Management planning and delivery. - Define and own End to End Master and Meta Data Plan required to deliver business objectives. Define resourcing and budget needs to deliver the aligned End to End Master Data Plan. - Partner with global Data Management Governance teams to bring required capabilities and resources to deliver the End to End Master Data Plan for the Project (align with and partner. Global EDM defines the model that PPM has to align) - Identify the opportunities to effectively harness, steward and govern the pipeline data to drive decision making by leadership. (align KPIs that leadership is interested with its sourcing lineage) - Consult and help establish data governance and data management practices within R&D PPM. This includes definition (and/or alignment) of (Enterprise) data standards and data quality rules to be applied. (Be an advocate of PPM data governance practices to impact enterprise data management practices) - Facilitate communication between Data Management office and Master Data Management experts to maintain consistency in Policies, Standards and best practices. - Proactively identify risks, issues or dependencies throughout any data management project lifecycle via effective stakeholder engagement. - Prioritize focus areas within the organization, identify enabling resources and establish PPM specific key performance indicators. - Adopt a consultative and innovative approach transform business requirements into widely embraced cutting edge solutions. - Lead and inspire team members, fostering a culture of agile mindset within the organization. - Demonstrate proficiency in multiple technology platforms and the ability to effectively work across various data and digital toolsets. - Establish and advocate for best practices in data architecture emphasizing scalability, performance, and sustainability. - Collaborate with PPM leadership and stakeholders, ensuring successful and consistent design, implementation, and change management of process and system improvements. - Enhance GSK’s external influence in the industry and PPM’s reputation by contributing through conference presentations and publications in data and digital management. - Manage a team of highly motivated individuals, taking accountability for their development with a focus on measurable success and impact. *Basic Qualifications* - Advanced degree in Information science and/or Computer Sciences - Extensive years of progressive related digital product experience, several years of people leadership experience in building high performing teams. - Experience working with Agile delivery. - Solid business and technology acumen combined with strong digital and user centric mindset. - Entrepreneurial spirit, strong judgement, and strong collaborative leadership skills including effective communication, emotional intelligence, relationship building and influencing skills. - Several years of experience in data management including relevant and considerable experience in transformation leadership role(s) - Good understanding of Data & Analytics, especially as it pertains to data harmonization to enable data products. - Good understanding of AI, especially in the context of data management and quality practices required to leverage AI - Proven experience in establishing and operationalizing data management capabilities in a complex project environment - Proficiency in database systems, data modeling, data integration, and data quality tools. - Knowledge of data governance tools and platforms, such as Collibra - Familiarity with data governance frameworks and standards, such as DAMA (Data Management Association), CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) or eDMF (Enterprise Data Management Framework) - Business-oriented and strategic mindset - Proven leadership and ability to influence all levels of leadership & ability to operate as an independent change agent to achieve strategic goals. - Deep expertise with project management tools such as Planisware and/or MS Project, and advanced proficiency with data management & Analytics toolsets - Strong communication skills in writing and presentation - Ability to foster a strong collaborative spirit internally and externally. - Adaptability and nimble thinking *Preferred Qualifications* - Proficiency in programming languages, such as SQL, Python, C# or Java, for developing and automating data governance processes. - Pharmaceutical R&D experience is a plus. *LI-GSK *Why Us?* GSK is a global biopharma company with a special purpose – to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together – so we can positively impact the health of billions of people and deliver stronger, more sustainable shareholder returns – as an organization where people can thrive.
