*Job description* *Site Name:* UK - Hertfordshire - Stevenage *Posted Date:* Jan 19 2024 *Job purpose :* Work in a world class engineering team to enable GSK to use technology to discover and develop the treatments of the future. GSK globally operates 16 million square feet of space with a population of over 28,000 GSK and other staff, including pharmaceutical R&D laboratories and commercial office accommodation for all GSK business units. This portfolio of property currently requires an annual spend of more than £450m in operating costs and £200m in capital investment. This role will provide ongoing electrical engineering support to GSK Operations across European, Middle East and African (EMEA) Sites. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of facilities that are safe, legal and compliant and to take responsibility of the delivery of hard services maintenance and technical infrastructure investment. The incumbent will be responsible for site compliance to company and statutory standards for electrical safety and DSEAR compliance. The role is based at the Stevenage R&D team, working alongside the EMEA engineering team *Key Responsibilities:* *This role will provide YOU with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:* - Ensure that necessary infrastructure and competent resources are in place to enable safe, compliant and reliable operations for GSK facilities - Oversee capital installations to ensure that engineering standards are upheld - Ensure that guidance, standards and rules are effective and in-use - Ensure that adverse events related to the role’s areas of responsibility are investigated, root caused and corrective action put in place, through engineering controls, process improvement or escalation to appropriate management for discipline and enforcement; - Act as Technical Authority for Electrical Safety and Hazardous Area Compliance - Execute remediation plans from policy and standards gap assessments. Escalate risks and/or conflicts with local customer’s ways of working. Specifically drive the electrical safety, and DSEAR gap mitigation to closure, reporting regular progress to management - Work within the site crisis team, providing crisis management on a rota. *Why You?* We are looking for professionals with the following skills to help us achieve our goals: - Minimum Level of Education: Electrical Degree.
