*Job description* *Site Name:* UK - London - Brentford, Philadelphia Walnut Street, Upper Merion, Upper Providence, USA - North Carolina - Durham, Warsaw *Posted Date:* Jan 23 2024 *Director, Global Logistics Fulfilment (Global Warehousing and Customs Brokerage)* *The role will preferably be based in the UK/Poland/US* The Logistics Procurement team at GSK operates on a global scale, leveraging a total cost of ownership methodology to ensure suppliers meet or exceed goals in quality, compliance, delivery, and cost. Collaborating closely with the global Supply Chain, the team aims to develop and implement global strategies to optimise the network and maintain GSK's competitive position in the marketplace. This role requires a strategic leader with a unique skill set tailored for the difficulties of global logistics market, including influencing stakeholders, challenging the status quo, and navigating the complexities of a matrix organization. *In this role you will:* · Develop and execute comprehensive global procurement category strategies for the Global Customs Brokerage programme and Global Warehousing, aligning with GSK’s strategic ambition. · Perform a thorough evaluation of the global Logistics network footprint, to proactively identify opportunities for optimisation. · Develop Logistics sustainability strategy, deliver a clear 5-year sustainability roadmap (jointly with Supply Chain & Procurement Sustainability team) to meet GSK ambitious goals. · Collaborate with key stakeholders and supplier partners to drive strategy and innovation while ensuring continuity of supply. · Manage risk effectively through well-constructed commercial and contractual agreements with third parties, delivering a robust supply continuity plan to assess, anticipate and prevent any disruption to supply chain on a global scale to ensure continuity of supply to our patients. · Navigate the complexities of a matrix organisation, working across functions, influencing strategic choices, driving Procurement agenda and questioning conventional approaches with a global perspective. *Key responsibilities:* · Development and execution global category strategies for warehousing and customs brokerage · Identify opportunities for process optimization within warehousing and customs brokerage, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and spearhead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline global Logistics operations · Keep abreast of market trends and commodity drivers; leverage same to effect strategies and develop annual cost reduction commitments · Build strong Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) with global and strategic partners with focus on continuous improvement, innovations and sustainability · Lead budgeting process, develop cost models and provide assumptions to Finance and Supply Chain · Lead tender process, ensure compliance with GSK Procurement policies and procedures, negotiate contracts with suppliers · Responsible for the performance management and talent development of direct reports and third-party logistics partnerships *Required Qualifications and Skills:* · E2E Supply Chain experience across multiple industries with experience in Logistics procurement focusing on Warehousing and Customs Brokerage at global level · Previous experience in developing and executing global category strategies within Logistics (global warehousing and customs brokerage) a requirement given GSK’s expansive footprint · In-depth knowledge of global logistics, warehousing, customs regulations and trade compliance · Deep understanding of market drivers effecting category and of the latest tools for executing sourcing strategies (Jaggaer, Ariba, etc.) required for annual benchmarking, sourcing, and negotiation process · Expertise in global logistics processes and associated regulatory requirements · Experience in designing and re-engineering business processes and implementing change management *Other Capabilities / Characteristics:* · Strategic thinker with a global mindset, proficiency in global benchmarking and external networking to foster global collaboration · High energy, enthusiastic and results driven; strong business acumen · Resilient and persistent with the ability to make the right choices at global level · Creative, analytical thinker, exceptional problem-solving skills · Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and a collaborative mindset · Strong ability to operate and influence across business units, across regions, across various management levels to drive change and achieve results #LI-GSK *Why Us?* GSK is a global biopharma company with a special purpose – to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together – so we can positively impact the health of billions of people and deliver stronger, more sustainable shareholder returns – as an organization where people can thrive.
