The Role
Overview of the Department
WREF in GSK is a global function with approx. 200 internal staff supported by a network of over 2,000 contract staff around the world. WREF’s portfolio includes 259 sites (35.7m square feet), across 61 countries comprising 3.7m square feet and a budget of over £153m.
The Workplace, Real Estate & Facilities (WREF) organization at GSK has undergone a significant transformation, realigning its strategic priorities to focus on creating inspiring, people-centric, tech-enabled, and innovation-led workplaces. WREF’s key activities include:
1. The strategic planning of the Real Estate portfolio to keep up with market trends and ensure our facilities are in the right locations to support our business.
2. Collaborating with our Facilities Management suppliers to enable our WREF sites to deliver to our customer’s needs.
3. Providing environments that are safe, legal, compliant, and sustainable.
Key Placement Activities
Support the development and implementation of workplace experience initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and well-being.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business excellence, ensuring efficiency and value in workplace operations.
Assist in the planning and execution of sustainability and corporate accountability initiatives, contributing to our goal of creating safe, responsible, and environmentally sound work environments.
Contribute to research and analysis projects focused on emerging trends in real estate, workplace technology, and workplace design.
Gain exposure to GSK’s global workplace strategy, with the opportunity to support projects across multiple sites and regions.
Participate in team meetings, provide updates on project progress, and present findings to senior leadership.

REQUIREMENTS
Education required: To apply for this placement, you must be:
Currently studying an Undergraduate Degree in Urban Planning, Property Management, Finance, Economics, Geography, Business Management or related.
Please read the degree requirements for each role carefully before applying.
Other requirements: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK (United Kingdom) or ROI (Republic of Ireland) University for the duration of your placement.
If you have already graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.
Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Duration: 1 year (approximately)
Salary: A salary of £27,100 plus a bonus.
